Kentucky Science & Technology Corporation (KSTC) (, a Lexington-based independent and innovative 501(c)(3) non-profit and leader in developing and managing creative initiatives in education, entrepreneurship, R&D capacity, and economic competitiveness seeks a self-driven person with strong interest in science, engineering and innovation to be a part-time New Program Developer for the Kentucky Science and Engineering Foundation (KSEF). This position may be converted into full-time in the future.

KSEF Mission: KSEF invests in people and their ideas, promoting innovation, new product development. and commercialization, to advance scientific and economic growth in Kentucky.

Position Description: KSTC has opened an opportunity for a person with strong STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) interests and skills to be a part of the KSEF New Program Developer which will work in conjunction with the KSEF team to identify new ways to unlock the possibilities of education, science, and innovation beyond the classroom and the lab. The selected candidate will help envision KSEF’s new horizons, drive new program development and enhance funding strategies through outreach events. This position will work with KSTC senior leadership to frame mission progress by refining strategy, defining program success metrics and setting goals for new programs within KSTC’s overall program portfolio.


  • Strong interest and background in a STEM area (Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).  Disciplinary background in a STEM area preferred.
  • BS (MS preferred) with 3 to 6 years of experience in grant writing, project development and program management.
  • Demonstrated skills of superior and effective written communication.
  • Able to combine strategy development with creativity and detail orientation to develop and implement transformational solutions. 
  • Enjoy solving complex challenges and working across organizations in a self-motivated, self-directed environment. 
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing performance management systems tied to the success of the organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
